This week I’m back to ranking Sephora’s best-selling products!
If you haven’t caught my other two posts in the series, I basically choose Sephora’s best-selling products from a given category and evaluate if they deserve to be bestsellers or if your money is better spent elsewhere. I already ranked base and cheek products – feel free to catch up on those – so now it’s time to do eye products.
Let’s get to ranking!
Urban Decay Eyeshadow Primer Potion
5/5
The Primer Potion is the first eye primer I ever fell in love with. And I haven’t stopped since. This is a cult classic for a reason. The reason being it’s a great product that intensifies and prolongs the wear of your eyeshadow. It’s an easy to use product no matter which shade or finish you choose and it’s not a tacky primer so eyeshadows blend smoothly on top of it. If you have yet to incorporate an eye primer into your routine, I definitely recommend you go for this one!
This product deserves to be a bestseller.
Laura Mercier Caviar Stick Eye Shadow
3/5
Caviar Sticks have been around for so long that they’ve come in and out of style a few times now. But the bottom line is: they’re a pretty good product. These are easy to use, long-wearing cream eyeshadows on a stick. You can use these as a base, all over the lid as a one-shadow-look, or even mix them with other shadows for a more intricate look. They come in a good variety of colors and finishes so there’s something for everyone to enjoy. IMO, these are kind of boring. They’re classic and very good quality but they don’t really do it for me as other eyeshadow sticks do.
This product kinda deserves to be a bestseller.
Tarte Tartelette™ In Bloom Clay Eyeshadow Palette
3/5
A few years ago, this palette used to be the shit! Everyone on YouTube loved it and it was always sold out. Safe to say the craze has died and there are newer, prettier palettes on the market now. This palette has a good basic color story for the everyday human and the shadow formula is nice. But honestly, this palette is boring. There are way more exciting and better quality nude palettes you can buy so unless you’re a die-hard Tarte fan, I would recommend skipping this one.
This product kinda deserves to be a bestseller.
Natasha Denona Glam Eyeshadow Palette
2/5
Natasha Denona is known for her expensive eyeshadow palettes and superior shadow formulas. But personally, I don’t love this palette and I don’t understand why it’s a bestseller. It’s too expensive for what it offers and you can get the same color story from about 100 other shadow palettes for cheaper. I think, if you want to spend your money on a ND neutral palette, the Biba palette is way prettier and more exciting than this one. So go for that one.

KVD Beauty Tattoo Waterproof Liquid Eyeliner
4/5
This is one of the best liquid liners ever! A lot of people love the Stila Liquid Liner but this one’s 100x better. This liner has a fine brush tip that makes it super easy to get a precise application and – when you eventually fuck up – it’s also easy to remove. If you do winged liner on the regular, this is the product that’s gonna make your life so much easier. It’s super black and water-resistant as well so it’s gonna last through everything. The only thing I personally don’t love is that this dries down shiny as opposed to matte. But I overlook it because this is an excellent eyeliner.
This product deserves to be a bestseller.
Urban Decay 24/7 Glide-On Waterproof Eyeliner Pencil
5/5
The UD 24/7 Glide-On Eye Pencils have one of the best formulas I’ve ever tried. They’ve been around for ages and they’re still loved by the beauty community. Let that be a testament to how good they actually are. The formula glides smoothly on the eyes and you get a bit of playtime to smudge it out and diffuse it. But once these set, they’re there for life. They’re water-resistant and long-lasting so you never have to worry about looking like a raccoon when wearing them. These also come in a huge variety of colors and finishes so there’s literally something for everyone.
This product deserves to be a bestseller.
Ilia Limitless Lash Mascara
5/5
The Limitless Lash Mascara is the best clean mascara I’ve tried to date. It has good ingredients to nourish your lashes and it makes them look unreal. The unique brush makes sure to coat all of my lashes and separates them for that intense my-lashes-but-better look. The formula isn’t too wet or too dry; it’s the perfect middle point. This mascara isn’t insanely volumizing so if you’re looking for extreme volume turn the other way. But if you’re looking for length and curl, well you might have just found the best mascara in the market. Another thing I love about this is that it doesn’t flake or smudge but it’s so easy to remove. No tugging necessary.
This product deserves to be a bestseller.
Too Faced Better Than Sex Volumizing Mascara
3/5
I bet you hadn’t heard about this one in a while. This is a cult classic mascara that, IMO, is way overhyped. When it first came out it was completely unique but now there are higher quality dupes out there that show better results. This mascara is volumizing and lengthening but it cannot hold a curl for the life of it. It makes your lashes look nice but the effects don’t last nearly as long as they should. And on top of that, once this formula starts drying down, it starts flaking and smudging everywhere. I’m not saying this is a bad mascara but there are better products out there that give better results for less.
This product kinda deserves to be a bestseller.
Anastasia Beverly Hills DIPBROW™ Pomade
2/5
Oh boy. I thought we had left Dipbrow in the past but apparently, it’s still a bestseller. This product broke the internet years ago but I feel like we – as a society – have moved past the super intense blocky brow look and products like this one. I think this is a great product to have in your makeup kit as a Makeup Artist because you can do so much with it and a little goes a long way. Plus it’s extremely long-lasting and smudge-proof. But if you’re an everyday human I’d stay far away from this. There are so many other amazing brow product that are way easier to use and give you better results. Why would you want to complicate your life with a brow pomade?
This product does not deserve to be a bestseller.
Benefit Gimme Brow
4/5
This is one of the first brow products I ever owned and it makes me so happy to see it as a bestseller at Sephora. When this came out it was one of the only brow gels in the market and everyone loved it. And over the years it has only gotten better and better. It makes brows everywhere look beautiful. This is a great product to add a bit of color to the brows and set them naturally. It’s not too crunchy of a brow gel and it doesn’t give you that laminated look that’s in right now. But it does tame the brow hairs nicely. The tiny spooly makes it easy to use and the formula is perfect to build up or wear on top of other brow products. This isn’t the newest, most innovative brow gel out there, but it still works like a charm!
This product deserves to be a bestseller.
Conclusion
Ok, so when it comes to the eye products we have mixed results. We have a bunch of great bestsellers but we also have quite a few irrelevant ones. I believe there are a ton of newer products on the market that are a better bang for your buck than some of these bestsellers. But some are bestsellers for a reason and they should stay that way.
Friendly reminder that these are just my opinions as an MUA and beauty lover and if you don’t agree, that’s totally fine.
If you enjoyed today’s ranking, keep your eyes peeled because lip products are next! Which bestselling lip products do you think will make it into the blog post?
Thanks for hanging with me for a while babes!
Love always,
